Chris Cannizzaro, who enters his fourth season with the Toreros, brings a wealth of major league experience to USO head coach Rich Hi ll 's staff. No stranger to baseball in the city of San Diego, Cannizzaro spent 13 years in the majors - including two sti nts with the San Diego Padres, where he became the first All-Star in Padre baseball history in the 1969 camritign . Cannizzaro played in 740 major league games whi le playing for the St. Louis Cardinals ( 1960-61 ), New York Mets ( 1962-65), Pittsburgh ( 1968), San Diego (1969-71; 1974), Chicago Cubs ( 1971) and the Los Angeles Dodgers ( 1972-73). Cannizzaro holds a share of the Major League record fo r most unass isted double plays by a catcher (2). Once his playing career ended, Canni zzaro shi fted hi s focus to coaching and spent three seasons ( 1976-78) with the Atlanta Braves organization before eoaching in the Ca li forn ia Angels organ ization from 1979-82 in the Class A Cal State League. Cannizzaro has two sons - Chri s Jr. and Ken, and a daughter, Kimberlee. Chri s Jr. was a two-time All-America se lection at San Diego State where he was a teammate of USO head coach Rich Hill for one season. Cannizzaro also has three stepdaughters - Marcia, Trici a and Jennifer. Brian Green begins his fi rst season at USD as an assistant under Head Coach Rich Hill. Green takes on the ro le as the hitting coach for the Toreros as well as coaching the outfielders and playing a maj or role in recruiting. Green also serves as the Torero 's academic counselor and helps run USO Baseball camps and clinics. Green 's coaching experience spans six co ll egiate programs

and he is currentl y servi ng as the Head Coach of the Kenai Peninsula O il ers of the Alaskan Collegiate Summer League. Green comes to San Diego after spending a season with Oregon State where he was a vo lunteer assistant fo r the Beavers from August 2000-200 I. Green served as an ass istant coach at Chapman Un iversity from August 1998-2000, helping Chapman reach the NCAA Division Ill World Series in 2000. Green has also served as an assistant at Riverside Community Coll ege (August 1995-96) and Cal Poly Pomona (August 1996-98). After completing a four-year collegiate playing career at New Mexico State in 1994, Green served as a graduate assistant at New Mexico State in 1994-95. Green played second base for New Mexico State as a senior and as a junior played infield for Champan University. Green 's coll egiate playing experience began with a two-year stint at Riverside Community College in 1991-92, leading Riverside to a state finals appearance in 1991. Green holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from New Mexico State and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from National University. Green and hi s wife Becki reside in La Mesa, California.
