Thank you to everyone who got in contact after last month’s edition with suggestions for the ‘masthead title’ of our eNews: some creative ideas in the mix (and a few which couldn’t pass muster no matter how many libations were utilised in assessing their implications!). Astute readers will note that one of the proposals – one recommended by PCs Phil Cook and Tony Neilson, among others – has already been incorporated in the front page banner of this month’s edition. Older readers in our ranks will recognise the appropriate salute to an earlier incarnation of the LSC’s newsletter (and I trust will appreciate the unseen time and hidden effort involved to seek out and amend the relevant font to do justice to an iteration which was probably created in rub-down Letraset characters, if not hand-lettered in pen-and-ink!). A ‘proper’ title for this publication has been chosen from amongst the range of ideas, and this will make its debut in a bit of a format refresh closer to the AGM, when we will also unveil the Little Ship Club’s official 65th anniversary graphic emblem. This month’s edition is somewhat truncated due to the demands of presenting and including the collation of news stories contained in the special supplement; our Bay and island lives are irrevocably changing before our eyes and eNews readers should be comprehensively informed.
