Great Hikes & Chefs of Northern Italy’s Gourmet Trail PIEMONTE, LOMBARDIA, AND THE VENETO

Northern Italy is the perfect setting for our award-winning journey combining day hikes with elegant meals created by some of Italy’s renowned chefs. We explore from the foodie haven of Torino, nestled against the Alps, across the rolling hills of Piemonte and mountain-ringed lakes of Lombardia, and into the

walk with views of the Swiss Alps, then stop for lunch at the Luigi Guffanti cheese grottos, family-run since 1876. Days 4-5 Monferrato / Antica Corte Pallavicina We’ll hike across the rolling hills of Piemonte’s Monferrato region, one of Italy’s most important wine districts, and head to Antica Corte Pallavicina, a family farm that makes fine salumi. We visit its venerable cellar where prosciutto is aged, enjoy a cooking lesson, and dine at its Michelin- starred restaurant. Days 6-9 Franciacorta / Lago d’Iseo / Lago di Garda / Verona The vineyards of Franciacorta, renowned for sparkling wines, are a great setting for our hike, and we ferry to an island in Lago d’Iseo for a lakeside walk and lunch of fresh fish. One of our visits is to the impressive Roman villa of Catullus, with its commanding views across Lago di Garda. Our final overnight is in the castle-town of Sirmione, with dinner in a Michelin-starred restaurant inside the city’s walled center. After a visit to Verona, legendary town of Romeo and Juliet, we depart on Day 9. ON OUR WEBSITE KINGDOM OF TRUFFLES & BAROLO Hikes, village visits, and the cuisine of Piemonte.
