to cry thinking why. Why is this all happening? Cracker went through his injury, she went through her arm injury, they were both making such great progress at the rodeo’s and now another injury to Kandy. With a cast on her wrist, they headed back home after the event at Guthrie. She decided to go to her orthopedic doctor and have it check out. This time, the x-ray showed no fracture. They removed her cast and instructed light movement. She immediately started working thru swelling, pain and scar tissue so she could get back to roping again. Not being able to rodeo in September and October 2018 proved to be hard on their standing and mental confidence. Lucky for her, Brad kept Cracker tuned and legged up. Even with all the setbacks,

her and cracker made it to the MRCA finals in fourth place! The MRCA 2018 finals didn’t turn out as well as she hoped. Her arm was not fully healed nor ready to compete, the team was not quite ready. Despite the years of injury and the “not so good” MRCA finals, Kandy and Cracker also made the URA finals that were held in November. Coming into the finals sitting in 9th place, she had big hopes of a super finals. They had a super summer with winning 1st or 2nd at seven of the rodeo’s the entered. Cracker is working amazing and Kandy’s horsemanship and roping is better. A Fantastic Finals - Kandy roped a time of 2.4 in the first round of the URA finals, placing second and in the second round she roped in a 2.3, placing third.

She went into the short round of the finals winning the average. Drawing a stronger calf, Kandy was not able to make the run she needed to get the average win, but did drive her horse and roped in a 3.4, making her 7.9 on three head, placing her second in the average and moving her up to fourth for the year end. This accomplishment also qualified Kandy to rope at the first ever Rope for the Crown that is being held December 8th at The Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kandy and Cracker Jack have been working hard preparing for the trip and the event and we are excited to watch their journey.

Good Luck to Kandy and Cracker!
