'The Throne itself is of an antique form; the Canopy is sup­ ported hy two Caryatides of inarhlc beautifully sculptured ✓ # hy Thorwaldsen; the sides are formed hy two lions with wings, and the cushion at the hack of the throne is deco­ rated with the initials of the reigning family of Denmark, surrounded hy a garland of laurel. Over the Canopy arc gilt ornaments representing the crown, the sceptre, the globe; and the sword. . . , i V. The Wall on the right hand of the throne is. adorned with the arms of the Duke of Oldenburg, and on the left by the Royal anus of Denmark.
