The Prisons.

1) The house of correction is situated at Christians- havn; it was lmilt in 1021. 'i ’ ' > , 2) The prison for the confinement of debtors nnd criminals is united to the Town-IIall by a corri­ dor; the number of unfortunate debtors confined here are trifling; they each occupy a seperatc I room, and are allowed a .weekly pension of about three shillings. 3) Stokhuset is a prison situated not far from Scilv- gadc, it was built during the reign of King Fre­ derick the fourth, and the malefactors confined here are employed in repairing the fortresses of the Capital, 4) Blaataarn is a prison situated near Langcbro, and is destined as a place of detention for prisoners from the interior of Zealand. 5) In the citadel of Fredcrickshavn is a stale prison. (i) Indcpendant of the prisons I have before mentio­ ned, there arc two others for the arrest of sailors an'd soldiers; the first is situated at the entrance of the old dock, and the other at the main- guard,
