The Royal Artillery Academy

was founded in 1770 under the direction of the lute General von Until; it adjoins the Royal Theatre, where 40 Cadets receive every instruction needful for their fu­ ture profession.

The Naval Academy.

The foundation of this Royal establishment ia dated from the 7tli May 1701; it is situated at the cor­ ner of Bredcgadc and Toldbodvcicn where 40 Cadets arc instructed in Religion, Mathematicks, Navigation, Hi­ story , Geography, English and French.

This noble and celebrated Academy is situated about 10 Danish Miles from Copenhagen in one of the most beautiful spots m the Island of Zealand, surrounded with lakes and woods. It was formerly a rich abbey of the cistcrciensian order, and founded in the year 1101 by the sons of Skialm Hvidc; P oko, Ebbe, Suno, and Asker Ryg the last of whom Avas the father of Archbishop Absalon.
