CLASS OF 1991 ~ 25th Reunion

CLASS OF 1991 ENDOWMENT TOTAL AS AT MAY 31, 2017

Members of the Class of 1991 toast their 25th Reunion.

CLASS REPS: Andrea Woods Armstrong, Silvia Lulka and Kate Menear Thanks to everyone who came to our 25th Reunion! We had a fantastic time catching up and sharing stories from our HC days. Andrea Woods Armstrong is creating and sharing happiness for others, and it’s all thanks to her grandfather, 95-year-old Gordon Carton. Some might see it as a casual clothing company, but Andrea sees it as a movement, one that her grandfather envisioned two years ago when launching his company, Happiness Is Inc. Andrea has been working tirelessly since the fall of 2016 to help make her grandfather’s dream a reality with a new line of T-shirts and hoodies, the proud claim ‘Happiness is…Canada,’ emblazoned across them. Sarah Vernon Baker continues to run PR, communications andmarketing for the faculty of kinesiology and physical education at U of T and works with the Varsity Blues. She loves it! Her son Harrison turns 6 in August. Cole, who just turned 8, is starting at UCC in the fall. Lina Fancy loves life in the Bay Area with Mark and her two boys, Oliver 5 and Sebastian 3. Lina works in autism treatments as one of the directors of The Autism Center of Northern California.

She lectures nationally and internationally and has recently discovered Crossfit! Lisa Thomson Grogan leads growth and expansion into global markets at Overlap, a human-centred design firm which she co-founded in 2011. She tries her best to juggle work while raising three fun daughters, together with her lovely husband Mick. She is a proud member of UNICEF Canada’s 25th team, a women’s philanthropic leadership group. Silvia Lulka loves her work as director of coaching at Rogers Communications. She is sought after as an industry expert on building coaching cultures. She can’t believe that she is starting to plan her eldest son’s bar mitzvah and that her twins are already 8. Maria Montero is a principal with the international department at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) in Toronto, where she has been for the past five years. Her daughters are 11 and 13. Jennifer Steckel Elliott ’s daughter loves being at Havergal! It is a small world and she is making friends with tons of other Old Girls’ daughters. Kate Menear practises law as a partner at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, while trying to balance a hectic family life with her daughters 8 and 6 and husband in Toronto.
