CLASS OF 2016 GLOBAL EXPERIENCE BURSARY TOTAL AS AT MAY 31, 2017

CLASS REPS: Emily Dotsikas, Julia Mastroianni, Jessica Munk and Jane Yearwood Madison Kennedy is enjoying her time at Huron University College at Western, and is studying business management and organizational studies. She is involved in many intramural teams and is onWestern’s junior varsity volleyball team alongside friends Charlotte Dewson and Jessica Francis . This summer, she will be working and travelling with friends. Jane Yearwood is enjoying her time at Victoria College ‒ University of Toronto, in the Vic One Ryerson Stream Program, a foundational education and society

program. The highlight of her year has been volunteering as a teaching assistant in a Grades 2/3 French Immersion class at an elementary school in Toronto. She also enjoyed participating in the Ideas for the World: Humanities 4 Humanity program at Victoria College, in which she acted as a mentor in an informal humanities course offered to members of the wider Toronto community. Jane is looking forward to the summer, when she will be travelling and working and when she will have more time to devote to creative writing, nurtured through her Grade 12 writer’s craft class at Havergal.

CLASS OF 2017 ENDOWMENT TOTAL AS AT JUNE 30, 2017

CLASS REPS: Elizabeth Farkouh, Stephanie Higgs, Evelyn Silverson-Tokatlidis and Coco Wang Madelaine (Maddy) Battista participated in Into the Woods , the senior school musical, along with sharing the leadership role of choir head with Charmaine Koo . Charmaine’s enthusiasm for music extended beyond choir, as she was a member of all music ensembles and the head of the community partnership, Music Connect. Emma Grace Wilson has enjoyed leading the philosophy club this year. While she looks forward to studying animal biology next year, she hopes to continue studying philosophy wherever she goes. Elizabeth Farkouh and Erin McQueenie had a great time as House Captains of Catherine Steele. Erin will particularly remember her experiences as a drama student, with her favourite performances being the docudramas and one-acts. Elizabeth looks forward to indulging her passion for studying science at university, while continuing to participate in theatre, which she loved so much at Havergal. Through her four years at Havergal, Carrie Hay Kellar came to appreciate history by taking a variety of social science courses. She also loved her time as a rower and as student/social prefect. She is excited to continue developing her interests. Claire Dirks loved her last year at Havergal as the admissions prefect. She is especially grateful to the rowing community for making her four years so spectacular. Stephanie Higgs took pleasure in sharing the role of Middle

School prefect with Megan Stellato in her graduating year. Stephanie thanks Havergal for the opportunity to be involved in various sports teams ‒ particularly field hockey ‒ and in community partnerships with Best Buddies and Athletes in Motion Camp. Evelyn Silverson-Tokatlidis adored her role as the first health and wellness prefect. Next year, she plans to play rugby at the varsity level; she has had a passion for rugby since she started playing at Havergal in Grade 9. Coco Wang loved her last year at Havergal as the Junior School prefect. She thoroughly enjoyed her four years in DECA and will continue to pursue her business interest in university. Catalina Lu also developed a passion for business. She loved being on the Havergal DECA executive council and will miss it very much. Taylor Poulton is grateful for the opportunity to pursue dance through the Havergal Dance Troupe for the past four years. She will particularly remember being part of Havergal’s very first competitive dance team, along with Caroline Williams . Caroline loved her 12th year at Havergal, being a big supporter of the dramatic and dancing arts as well as one of the house and clubs prefects. She was happy to spend the majority of her time pursuing arts and school spirit, her two favourite things at Havergal. As Kate Leonard’s House Captain, Lisa Wight loved encouraging the girls in her house to cheer loud and proud. She plans to continue studying science and math at Queen’s University.
