GAY SELLERS KROEGER 1952 BURSARY TOTAL AS AT MAY 31, 2017

CLASS REPS: Joan Rudolf McKinney, Susan (Sue) Watson Nelson and Sally Garratt Vernon The Cinquantenaires and Stoneagers Spring Luncheon at the Ellen Knox Library last May brought many friends together. Doreen Seigman Murray came down from Muskoka, and a special surprise was seeing Sally Smith Richmond , who was brought to the luncheon by her daughter, Heather. For many years, Sally had not been well enough to attend the luncheons. We were sad to lose Nancy Stewart this year and quite a few classmates went to the funeral. Friends of Nancy’s had a picture of her, taken 10 years ago, enlarged to be shared with all of them. Julie Fortin Gray and Joan Rudolf McKinney continue to meet up each year at the Royal Winter Fair. Susan Blackburn Osborne and her family are planning a summer visit to Western Canada to attend a granddaughter’s wedding. Edith (Edie) Carter Jewett and Ken are off to Barbados and then to England in the spring. One of their granddaughters is presently studying in Estonia. Anita Cran Corrigan has moved into the Claremont Retirement Home on Mount Pleasant Rd., joining several other Havergal Old Girls. Susan (Sue) Watson Nelson , besides looking

after her husband, continues her painting and participates in shows. Sue now has grandchild #10. Her eldest granddaughter is spending a year in Africa as a veterinarian in the Kruger National Park. Jeanie Sutherland Pretz was living in a seniors’ community in North Carolina, but decided that it wasn’t for her. She is moving to Columbia, South Carolina, to be closer to her daughter and two great-grandchildren. Joan Rudolf McKinney and Sue Watson Nelson joined Isabel Brazill Paterson-Smyth at Belmont House, where Isabel now lives. They had a very enjoyable lunch together, catching up on news. They also visited with Betty Lawrence Wansbrough . Amazingly, we have now reached our 65th year and it is time to start working on a reunion to be held in the fall of 2017. All of your input for this reunion will be gratefully received. We hope to hear from you. Let’s continue with our yearly contribution to the Gay Sellers Kroeger Bursary, which goes to a girl who would not otherwise be able to attend Havergal College. Best wishes to all and a healthy 2017.
