Her 60th anniversary with Montreal General nursing is approaching. Betty Bunting Duffield in London has given up skiing, but is involved as a substitute patient and is called upon by the teaching medical profession to act for nursing and medical students. She still has an important acting career! Anne Aitken Baker is recovering from eye surgery and looks forward to a new knee, as well as to renovations on her historic home. She is the new patron in chief of the Admiral Piers Naval Association. Jocelyn Wrong Macdonald plays bridge and visits the Shaw Festival each summer. Cynthia Joan Wight Rossano enjoyed a trip to England. She still writes and edits for Harvard, and enjoys her contact with the students. Jill Bartlett Colley plays bridge and tennis. She has family close by, and is looking forward to her summer in Muskoka. Jill Northway Lange is well in Los Angeles. Her Lange Foundation saves impounded dogs, cats and horses. Jane Milne Harkness and her husband Jim live on Vancouver Island and have children nearby. Jane expresses CLASS REPS: Elizabeth (Bet) Stanbury Curry and Frances Bond McElroy We lost two classmates this year, both of whom started at Havergal in the Junior School. Brenda Duggan Charters spent much of her life in the Brampton/Oakville area where she and Rae enjoyed their heritage home and three daughters, while their summers were spent on Georgian Bay. Recently, Brenda was our Class Rep. Her fun-loving ways endeared her to us all. Stephanie (Stephie) Folt Corbet spent much of her adult life in England and Europe before returning to Canada where she became immersed in the artistic and intellectual life of Toronto, earning her master’s degree in medieval studies. A service of Thanksgiving was held at the home of her lifelong friend, Joan Burns Addison . Jill Kerruish Strickland has returned to her Calgary home. She had a wonderful birthday celebration with her CLASS OF 1954

her talent in traditional Japanese silk embroidery, travelling to Washington for classes. Her work is exquisite. Gail Cowie Turner and John have moved to Amica at Bayview and Shepherd. Supportive daughter Kim visits as Gail recovers from pneumonia. Wendy Robinette Calder in Woodstock loves her reading club, and she and George spend eight months in Southampton. She still plays tennis and travels to Barbados in the fall. Barb Owen Pauli has two children – Jim and Louise. She travelled to England recently with Louise, in spite of her arthritis. Keep moving! Marnie Littlejohn Wigle lives in Belmont House in Toronto. Libby Flett Henderson is recovering from surgery. Nancy Lillico Bolliger took a special trip to Disney World with her two granddaughters, aged 19 and 22. Nancy’s daughter Karen died 12 years ago, and this was a promise fulfilled with great joy. Nancy Turville Bongard is still singing, tap dancing and painting in Bermuda. 2018 marks our 65th Reunion, so keep well, hang in and stay tuned for details of a memorable reunion with classmates. family on the Rocky Mountaineer. Janet Coutts Tieman ’s family organized a gathering for her 80th birthday. She enjoyed seeing many friends and family. Vernanne Purdy Drummond reports the unexpected death of her sister Pam, but speaks with enthusiasm of her grandchildren (who are making great strides in education and work) and of her great-grandchildren. Susan Radley Fraser has purchased a home in Florida to escape winter. She travelled to Scottsdale, Arizona and went on a Caribbean cruise. Audrey Prettie Mason is enjoying life and new friends at Briton House; her two sons live nearby. Jane Gunn Warner is not travelling, as Colin is very frail. A new stairlift is making life easier. Frances Bond McElroy enjoys theatre and farm life, as well as travelling with Ross to Paris and China. Jean French Bell enjoys winter in Sarasota with golf, symphony, bridge and friends.
