You are the Spirit of truth, of love, and of holiness, and we know that you were sent to us from the Father at the request of our Lord Jesus. Because I have trusted in Jesus, you have come to me, and now I adore you, and love you with all my heart. Thank you for living in me, for sealing me as God’s own possession, and teaching me the Word of God that I might know and seek God as my light and strength. You are my strength. Fill my heart with love for the Lord, and the fear of God. Lead me into the ways of the Lord, and overcome in me any false desire to sin or forsake your will and work. Grant me patience and clarity, in order that I might not fall into sin, and increase my faith, that I might cling to you, depend on you, and through you, become more like Jesus my Lord. So change my life that dwell therein, let us pray to the Lord. Lord, have mercy upon us. Amen. ~ Roger Geffen. The Handbook of Public Prayer . p. 115.
