A Seasoned Casing Case Study When a national processor saw sales of their presliced lunch meats stagnating, they contacted Flavorseal to invigorate sales. Consumer demand for bold flavors provided the solution to their dilemma: create a line of presliced products with bold flavors that consumers can visually see and taste. After the processor’s R&D department specified flavor profiles, Flavorseal produced test casings. Using existing equipment, the bold flavors integrated seamlessly into the customer’s production facilities, and was launched into the market. The processor launched four new flavors as part of a new lunchmeat line of bold flavors. Sales growth of these bold prod- ucts outperformed traditional sliced lunch meats by 3 to 1, and the processor is exploring further expansion.
