Chaim Steinberger
Chaim Steinberger is a divorce and family-law lawyer in New York City. While working at some of the city’s most prestigious firms he went through his own nasty divorce and said, “There has got to be a better way.” He has since dedicated his life to that better way bringing big-firm professionalism and success to the area of matrimonial and family law. He authored “Divorce Without Destruction,” “The Perils of Prenups,” and “Father? What Father? Parental Alienation and its Effects on Children.” Practicing “divorce without destruction,” he uses the teachings of game theory to help his clients obtain better results collaboratively then they likely would have ever been able to achieve adversarially. Mr. Steinberger now chairs the Trial Practice and Techniques Committee of the ABA Family Law Section. He served two terms as chair of its Custody Committee. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the NYSBA Family Law Section (“FLS”), and served on the council of the ABA FLS. He chaired the ADR Committee of the ABA FLS, and co-chaired the Collaborative Law Committee of the NYSBA DR Section. He mediates both privately and on numerous court panels.
