schedule that has an adequate window of work for each trade. By working with NEBB and utilizing the methods and procedures that are outlined, the task becomes more of a checked process in which items are not overlooked and passed over. NP: Many professionals hesitate to get involved due to time constraints. What would you say to someone who’s on the fence about dedicating time to NEBB? WB: Through working with NEBB, I have found that each and every committee is looking for volunteers. I was hes itant at first, too, but have found that the number of vol unteers makes a great deal of difference. The higher the number of volunteers, the more the work can be spread out, so as not to overload the individuals that try to par ticipate. As mentioned previously, I probably have more practical experience than many of the individuals that have gone through college or trade schools. I was more or less placed into a situation of figuring things out in the field with air and hydronics so we could close out jobs and move on with a pleased customer, helping to maintain the company's reputation. While working with others in the NEBB groups, I’ve noted how receptive they are to what you have to offer. Everyone that can bring something to the table is recognized, so don't think or underestimate what you have to offer. It may be a perfect opportunity to get involved to help others to grow and succeed. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. WB: In working with NEBB, I have seen some of the younger generations prove that they are very knowledge able for their age. It has taken me years to get some of the things under my belt that I’ve witnessed some half my age executing, as we talk through conversations. It just goes to show working with NEBB and bouncing stuff off other NEBB Certified Professionals can take you a long way. I feel it helps us grow, collectively, to a knowledge level way above the status quo. NP: What gives you hope or excitement about the next generation of NEBB professionals? NP: If you could leave one message to future leaders in NEBB, what would it be? WB: I say keep doing the things we are doing to help oth ers in our industry recognize how NEBB has made a dif ference. Continuously reaching out to make our industry aware of what NEBB has to offer is very important.
want to do more. In the middle of 2000, I decided to pur sue both BSC and RCx. As I attended these seminars and national meetings, I decided I wanted to do more and started to move towards working at the National level as a volunteer in 2022 for the TAB Committee with Don Pittser and the guys. I am currently serving my third year term and enjoy these guys, as we have fun while we help with various tasks asked by the NEBB Board. Working with the TAB Committee, I realized a lot of the guys are really passionate while serving as members and care a lot about NEBB. The work that goes into the standardized documents that the Board and membership distribute to ongoing members and new individuals and firms coming into the organization is something we can all be proud of. I will say that I have a lot of practical experience work ing with all kinds of systems in the fields of industrial and commercial services with air, hydronics, controls, and large residential systems. I also want to mention that I have enjoyed working with the staff of NEBB. These indi viduals are very helpful with any changes in technology like different computer programs and methods of storing and tracking files. In case you have not gathered, I am "old school" and sometimes struggle with the new methods. Having files and folders of my own is one thing, but trying to find specifics via the website and links is something to tally new for me. Working with Tiffany and Christina has been a great experience, and I know I work on their pa tience when trying to step me through these processes. They have been very helpful in walking through answers to the different questions each of us has been challenged with while doing items in "Certelligence" or registration for companies and individuals. NP: In today’s fast-evolving industry landscape, how have you adapted your leadership style to stay ahead of the curve, and how has NEBB supported that growth? WB: I definitely feel that the construction industry has been trying to push too hard to finish jobs quicker and faster. With this push, the pace of the project tends to overlook very important items that should be part of the process, sometimes sacrificing project quality and caus ing the customers or ownership to suffer. Fortunately, my past employer chose quality over quantity. If the compa nies can't stand behind what they believe is important, then everyone will struggle to see a good installation. I am not saying that a successful project cannot be complet ed in a timely manner, but does need to have a realistic
