With a v iew to replying to an enquiry put out by ISO/TC 44/SC I (Defi– nition of Weld Positions) , proposals ·will be drafted for the symbolisation of elec– trodes, account being taken of their possibilities in welding in different positions . z . Study of general plan for the symbolisation of all t ypes of electrodes, to be drawn up in accordance with the principles governing the present code, which now fo rms a draft recommendation of I SO. 3. Study of a code of symbols for surfacing electrodes and, more particu- larly, the following points. choice of method fo r hardness t est s, preparation of t ables of symbols for hardnesses, description of the p rincipal types of electrode and, possibly of coverings.

4. In conjunction with the work of Sub-Commission A, a method of testing for electrodes, the ,~veld metal of which has a low hydrogen content.
