member societies, and wastage of effort and expense is thus avoided. The other method leads to a wide circulation, thanks to the assistance of the member soci– eties, which, in their respective countries and in their own languages, make information on the work carried out available to a large number of readers. In this way, with limited financial means, the results are disseminated logically and efficiently. Up to the present, the IIW has not issued a journal devoted exclusively to the publication of its own work. It is possible that, in the future, the Institute will have to publish a review of this kind, in view of the extent of its activities and the ever growing importance of the results ob– tained. This question is being closely studied by the Publications Committee of the Executive Council of the IHV.
