Vice Commodore’s Comments

I would like to say Hat’s Off and Thank You to all the Board Members and Membership for coming to th e Island over the las 4-5 weeks and giving a helping hand with all of the Harbor and Grounds, Tree cutting, Club house and Capital projects; all hands on deck has really helped out. It looks like the Garage, Walkways and Seawall projects should be completed by opening weekend. Thank You to All!! Save the date: The 2024 NCYC Commodore Ball will be February 3, 2024, at Marriott Auburn Hills. Further details will follow as we progress. We had another successful TIPS Training Class on May 7, 2023, at HPYC. We had 33 NCYC members attend the class. This addition to our TIPS certified members should help us accomplish our goal of Board and Flag members and the Weekday Managers and ODs certified.

Thank You for your support.

Correspondence

1) Request from Clubhouse Manager, Colleen Braun, regarding July 4 th Weekend:

Hi Mark, Thought I might mention something to you regarding July 4. On the week day manager’s schedule, the 4 th is on Tuesday. So this means, Sunday night and Monday will be late, and maybe the 4 th night too. Years ago, people left for the fireworks but the last few years this has not happened. I would take that week but I’m asking for extra help on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. If you could bring this to the Board, I would appreciate it. Last year was terrible and I’m not looking for much, just a commitment from some people. There is no way a new couple could do this, but help a night would be appreciated. Please let me know what you and the Board can come up with. Thanks Colleen.

2) Request from Member#1 for permanent reduction in work requirement from 16 hours to 8 hours, due to medical reasons and advanced age.
