JULY 2018 BEACON

We had a great turnout for the ABYA dinner dance. P/C Pat Carroll did a great job facilitating this event for NCYC. Our Harbormaster, Leslie Leitch also did a good job docking all of our guests for the weekend. We also enjoyed a “Tiki Bar” weekend on Saturday, June 9th, thanks to the efforts of P/C Jim Angers. He had a one man band named Joe Allen who entertained us from 1-5 PM on the patio. Last weekend we held our first NCYC Club Rendezvous held at St. Clair Harbor Club. Our Fleet Captains Ken Lipowski and Julie Delauter did an excellent job keep us “watered” and fed for the entire weekend. They had great help from Glenn and Sheila Nixon, which made for a wonderful and fun time. We look forward to the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club Rendezvous which will be held on the weekend of July 28th. If you haven’t had a chance you need to come to the Club on Friday night and try our new Caterer for dinner. Our “Bald Chef Tom” has come up with some great dinners and you can still just order burgers, chicken tenders and fries if you like. There are still some members that have not picked up their new Roster and membership cards. Just ask the Bartender on duty to give you your Roster Package. Please make sure you do this soon so we can save on postage by not having to mail them to you. Also, please make sure you fly your NCYC Burgee so we can identify that you are a member of the Club. This makes it easier on the OD. Also, please remember to take you own trash back with you on your boat. We have been made aware of members not adhering to this policy.
