During my years on the board, I was appointed Director of Harbor and Grounds, Director
of Membership and lastly Director of Activities. I would like this opportunity to say
'thank you ' to the following Past Commodores that I have had the pleasure of working
with on the board during my terms. PC Henry Siwek, PC Bob Watson, PC John Dickson,
PC Tom McHugh, PC Don Vanover and PC John Anderson. I hope that my years of hard
work and dedication did some good for the Club, as I truly enjoyed being part of it.
As for being Director of Activities for 2014 the club once again had a successful year
Thank you to all who stepped up and volunteered to put on an event or donated their
time by working the event or maybe even made donations toward an event. Also, a big
thank you to the First Mates and the Ancient Mariners for their continued support.
I would like to wish the new board Good Luck in the upcoming year and Happy Holidays
to all at the members and families of the North Channel Yacht Club.
Clubhouse - Rich Goodman
As another year has passed and the boating season ended, the Clubhouse has been
winterized and the repair of the kitchen floor and the installation of the back- up
generator is work in progress.
I have been honored to serve as Clubhouse Director. You have trusted me as caretaker
of our historic and beautiful clubhouse. Together we have made several major
improvements and renovations. Most noteworthy, the managers apartment. During
the past three years many maintenance issues were resolved. The preservation of this
building is and will continue to be challenging and sometimes costly. It is important
that we make suggestions and encourage our Forward Planning Committee to plan as
needed. (Remember the old saying "A stitch in time saves nine") Thank you all for your
contributions, you have been most generous lending your skills and expertise. I have
the highest regard for the leadership and talent of the Flag and Boards that I have
served with. As I pass my responsibilities onto PC Hugh Vestal, my mentor, I want the
membership to know that I will always be around to assist and help wherever I can.
I want to thank Commodore John and Beverly for what you have added to our club..
Thank you for your leadership, excitement and excellent work. We all wish you both the
best.
Have a great evening! Happy Thanksgiving!
Harbor & Grounds – Don Reiss
Happy Holidays to everyone. I just wanted to thank everyone again for all of the help
this fall at the work parties, all 4 went smoothly. Job well done! Thanks to Commodore
John for a great year. Have a good evening. I am looking forward to working with all of
you next year.
