Harbor & Grounds

First of all, I would like to thank everyone who came out for the last two work parties and lent a helping hand closing up for the 2023 season. On Saturday November 4th Commodore Brian, Clubhouse Director Bill Frederiksen and myself did a final walk around of the Harbor and Grounds along with the Clubhouse and I am very happy to report that the old girl is all closed up for her long winter nap. Spoke with Liz from Jay’s Septic on November 6 th ; the last cleaning of the Porta Potty will be November 16th. We will be in vacation mode and will need to call back in spring to start services back up. Spoke with Carly from Waste Management on November 8th and put our account in seasonal service. Will need to call back in spring also to start services back up.

Transportation

Tom provided a status on all Fin boats.

Shelley Sweier

Membership

Membership information being mailed during the first week of December. Full dues payment is due January 31, 2024. The Wait List remains at 23. Members who did not complete their 2023 required work hours are being contacted. The pro-rated initiation fee waiver policy for Junior Members was discussed. Motion: Shelley Sweier to propose waiver of a member ’s work hours for 2023 due to illness. Second: Philip Maniaci. Motion Carried Motion: CMDR Fringer proposed waiver of a member ’s 2023 work hours in view of special donation of services. Second: R/C Burkhardt. Motion Carried

III. NEW BUSINESS

A. For insurance purposes, an appraisal is required to establish the amount of insurance needed on the Clubhouse and outbuildings. The recommendation is to utilize the previous vendor, Industrial Appraisal Company, to perform the appraisal. Motion: Mark Javery proposes the above vendor perform the appraisal of NCYC properties. Second: Philip Maniaci. Motion Carried.
