MARCH 2018 BEACON

It is now March and we are creeping closer to boating season and opening up the Club. We now have our new committee’s in place, weekend OD schedules shaping up for the 2018 summer. We still need 2 weekday managers to fill our missing slots in September. Please try to get some member friends together to fill those two missing weeks and let Vicky or Dick Raymond know. (810-794-4850). We created a new policy that will have rules and regulations for incoming rendezvous and Poker runs. Please see the actual document included in this March Beacon. The ABYA will be having their 2018 Spring Rendezvous on March 9 -11th at Valley Plaza Midland Resort. The cost is $370/couple. If you plan on attending, please contact Jill Romatz at 586-265-7793. The Blessing of the Fleet will take place at Mariner’s Church, the Maritime Sailors Cathedral, on Sunday, March 11 at 11:00 AM. Please let me know if you would like to attend. This is a unique church service and you get to see a lot of neighboring yacht clubs display their flags. Our first Elite Brigade work party starts April 14th. Please mark your calendars. We will need lots of help to start removing the old siding on the Clubhouse. There is still time to join over 60 of your fellow NCYC members for the Commodore’s Cruise in September. The cruise will take us from New York to Halifax, Nova Scotia along the east coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Please contact me if you are interested in joining us or have questions.
