I’d like to thankeveryone for their attendanceat thismeeting tonight. Although inour busy lives addinganother item toour schedules is tough…carryingout thebusinessofNCYC is an important necessityand I have to commend you for your dedicationon this. Please takenoteof our guests inattendance thisevening. President of theFirstMates Kathy Bell and somemembersof that group. Also I’d like towelcome long-timemember andproduct supplierMr. TedMariniwhowill be introducingus to somenewproduct that he’d likeus to try this year.Welcomeall of you. We’ve finally started theEliteBrigadeworkparties at our Island thispast Saturday. The turnout was goodwithabout 15members coming tohelp. Both the IslandandClubHouse lookedgood considering thenastywinter thatwe’vehad. Since thatworkpartywehada strong storm come through theareaandwe sustaineda small bit of damage.Nothingmajor and itwon’t take much to repair. Thenext three Saturdays are theEliteBrigadeworkparties followedby two scheduledGeneralMembershipworkparties. I encourageall of you to comeout and lenda hand. Iwant to thankDir. Pat Carroll formakingoneof the Fins available for ouruseas shuttle to the IslandandDir. RichGoodman for givingususeof theutilities in theClubhouse. It takesmore thanwavingawand tomake these thingshappenand I appreciateyour efforts ingetting these thingsdone. If you lookoutside you can tell spring ishere, opps, I guess notwith2 inches of snow last night. It is soon to change thoughand thatmeansworkparties arehere. Asdirectors it isour responsibility tomakeasmanyworkparties aspossibleand tohelp inparticular Clubhouseand Harbor andGroundsdirector getwork tohelp them complete their projects. Wehave several newmemberswhohavebeen interviewed andwill be joining the club this year, butwe still haveopenings and canuseadditional goodmembers. Talkwith your friends andother peoplearoundyouandencourage them to look intobecomingamember. I traveled to the Islandon Sundayuponmy return frommy vacationandwehavehad some damage from the strong storms that came through Saturdaynight. About 10 feet of soffit under the coveredpatiowas blownoff by thewind. I pickedupabout 5or 6pieces from the front lawn, and sawanother 3or 4on thebottomofwater betweenAandBdock. TheRubbermaid container at thedocknext to the swimmingholealsowasblownawayand I picked it out of the swimmingholeandplaced it on the floating swimdock.
