We have a very important event coming up in March. It has been stipulated by our insurance company that our OD’s, Weekday Managers, Board of Director’s and the Flag take TIPS Training (Training and Intervention Procedures for Alcohol Servers). We have partnered with Huron Pointe Yacht Club to host the training class at their facility, located at 32800 S. River Rd, Harrison Twp. MI 48045 on Saturday, March 4 th , 2023 at 12:00 pm. The training will last approximately 3 hours and there will be no cost for the training. We currently have 70 seats reserved for the training and it will be based on a first come, first serve basis. Please reserve your spot by February 24 th , we need to give a final count in order to insure we have amble training materials. If you are unable to attend the training on March 4 th , we will be conducting a future training on the island (specific date TBD). We have two additional events coming up prior to the clubs opening. The Blessing of the fleet being held at the Mariners’ Church in Detroit on March 12 th at 11:00 am, which will be attended by our Past Commodore, the Flag and our Chaplain. The First Mates are having their annual Fashion Show at Barrister Gardens on April 30 th , 2023. Please send your reservations to Rachel Fringer, 48253 Golfview Drive, Macomb Township, MI 48044. The cost of the Fashion Show is $45.00. For all our members that are enjoying the winter in a southern state or for everyone vacationing, please travel safe and we look forward to an early Spring and seeing you at the Elite Brigade weekends.
