Vice Commodore Bill Burkhardt
Hard to believe summer is already coming to an end once again flying by.
This year once again the nominating committee had a tough job filling all of the open spots and actually had to work much harder than they should have to. We currently have an excellent board, but that can only be maintained if people are willing to step up and serve this great organization. The brilliance of our past officers has set up a system where you join the club. Get to know the club and its members, then hopefully step up and serve in some capacity for a period of time, then return back to being a member. We can all use the excuse that we “don’t have time”. The reality is we make time for what is important. We have lots of talent and ability in our membership and we really need people to look at stepping up and serving. I was bugged and recruited 4-5 years ago, I had some of the same concerns as many of you, can I do it, do I have time to do it. Here is what I can promise you as a result if you say yes. 1. You will be serving with like-minded people who want the best for the club. 2. It is a lot of work, yet very rewarding. 3. You will make some new truly lifelong friends as a result. 4. You will gain a further appreciation for the club. 5. You will not regret the decision, I promise. So, for next year please give it some thought to stepping up your club needs you!! We have a Save-The-Date …..the 2025 Commodore’s Ball will be on January 11th.
