Residential aged care (also known as a “nursing home” or “aged care facility”) provides long-term care given to adults in a residential setting rather than in their own home or family home. It is for those who are no longer able to manage at home without some care and support. If home-based care is not available or not appropriate for an individual, residential care may be required.
