A WORLD EMERSED IN WATERCOLOURS T he Central Coast Watercolour Society Inc. was started in 1985 by a group of local artists wanting to gather with like-minded people. Today, four decades on, it flourishes and is the result of enduring passion, commitment, creativity, community, and shared artistic growth and a tribute to the spirit of volunteering and artistic expression. With a membership of nearly 200 members. Run entirely by volunteers, the CCWS offers a wide range of services to both our members and the public. Complimentary “Try Your Hand” sessions for anyone wanting expert guidance on how to start painting are a feature of every exhibition. Meetings are held monthly at The Entrance and include a guest speaker, library with art books and DVD’s for members to borrow and a shop with a variety of art materials. Monthly workshops tutored by well-known artists, both for members and the public, are held at our meeting venue The Entrance Community Centre, Norberta Street, The Entrance . Paintings by Khin Swe Ohn, a passionate botanical illustrator and CCWS member Born in Myanmar (Burma) she lives and works as a Specialist Geriatrician on the Central Coast. In 2024 she received a Diploma in Botanical Art from SBA London, distant learning course, with distinction. She is also a member of the Botanical Art Society of Australia (BASA).
