CHARITY Lou’s Place - Rebuilding Lives

“Lou’s Place is a daytime refuge for women who are in crisis or in need of support. Based in Kings Cross for over 15 years, Lou’s Place meets a woman’s basic needs with home cooked lunches, clothing, showers, laundry and personal care items. Professional staff provide referrals, crisis intervention, case management and counselling. A pro bono solicitor provides free legal advice and a chiropractor provides free sessions once a week. We have a team of over 55 volunteers who work in the kitchen, the clothing room and facilitate creative expression activi- ties including yoga, belly dancing, creative writing, music, jewellery making, art, collage and sewing. As storage is limited at our service, thanks to the generous support of Kennards, we are able to receive, sort and store donations of clothing off site.”

For many years now Kennards have been helping Fairy with donated storage space at KSS Camperdown. Simply Sparkling!... It seemed only fitting that she should receive the Medal of the Order of

Sydney Homeless Connect (SHC) is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation that connects people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness with the services and support they need to improve their situation and get them into accommodation. KSS Artarmon (Pacific Hwy) donated space to SHC to store donated goods for their event that was held in June, for over 3,000 people in need. “You guys rock!!” SHC said. “We can’t thank you enough for your amazing support. It means so much to so many people and this contribution is about to make a huge impact on a lot of lives!”

Well done and Congratulations Fairy Sparkle!

Eric and Ashley (above), were happy to help and delighted to receive a box of chocolates from SHC in thanks.
