Edmonton is home to Troy’s Black Widow, a Ram with a difference. Troy’s reasons for creating Black Widow are straight forward: “I love lowered vehicles… and I wanted something to stand out and that everyone would remember being an eye catcher.”

Troy runs a large group of Ram enthusiasts called Badlands Ram. Initially, his friends wanted to make a tech tip Facebook page for any- one who owned a Ram truck. “After a time, I ended up getting a truck and I joined. As time passed, it kept growing. We felt that this wasn’t just going to be a tech tip page, that we should make it a group so we did. It has been 2 years now and I am running the group by myself and we are sitting at almost 2000 members across Alberta.”

Troy has two favourite accessories on Black Widow: “1st off are my 24” rims made by Dub. Then I had them Hydro Dipped with a custom pattern done by Liquid Customs. The 2nd one is my stereo, done by Snowman’s Custom Audio; it sounds amazing and it gets people interested in checking out my truck.”

After working in the accessories business since 1995, Troy opened his own business: Black Widow Kustoms & Repairs. He credits his mentor, Jim Smith, for a lot of his early training and inspiration.

His next mod on Black Widow will be: “custom red/black Katzkin leather for the seats.” “My main dream goal to do with the truck is to put a full air suspension on it.” The future looks bright for Troy and his Black Widow.
