THE VENDING MACHINE AT THE SERVICE OF INDUSTRY 4.0

SAM’URAÏ ® project meeting: Franck VICENTE, Lauriane MASSARDIER, Théodore PUNTOUS, Anton FERRIÈRE

All this data is profoundly transforming the industrial landscape with connected objects. With these new predictive maintenance tools, it is easy to implement corrective actions and, in fine , avoid failures. It is the whole production line that becomes more efficient, more flexible and therefore more responsive. The data secures the machines which can then offer a constant performance, and meet deadlines while offering security and a guarantee for the end customer. Thanks to IoT, it is possible to access the equipment’s data simply . The implementation of RFID and of the cloud infrastructure in the distribution systems has made it possible to follow and monitor the stock while protecting it against any abusive utilisation and theft.

These interoperability technologies make it possible to provide electronic recording on the status of the machines, along with high performance analysis tools, with real-time visibility of inventory. With a view to offering ever-greater traceability and productivity, industry has seized all the potential of the “smart factory”. In order to secure the distribution of the equipment, vending machines saw the light of day, offering innovative storage spaces that are easy to use.

They are ideally located as close as possible to the production/ maintenance lines. This is the case, in particular, of the connected stores that are appearing in the industrial world (Amazon Go-type equipped containers, that are used to distribute in places that are difficult to access).

These smart distributors are perfect for automating the logistics chain and optimising human actions.
