April - June 2023 Newsletter
President's Message Dear members,
Spring is in the air here at Greystone Golf and Country Club! It is hard to believe the first quarter of 2023 is ending. The Greystone team has been very busy the past several months preparing for a great year. A significant effort was made to bring our Club to a full staff. Please welcome the new Greystone staff members as you meet them. We have some incredible people serving our Membership. In February, we honored several of the Gresytone team at the annual tenure awards dinner, where we celebrated employees that had reached milestones of five, ten, fifteen, and even twenty-five years of tenure at the Club. As we bring in and retain awesome people, our Club will continue to reach new heights. Although we have been in the winter months, our Club has been very active. Wine Dinners, Valentine's Day events, Comedy Night, the Mardi Gras Party, March Madness parties, and overall great food have kept our restaurants busy. We are committed to keeping our restaurant menus fresh, so if you have not been to Cellar 91 or Aqua recently, please head over to discover what the new menus offer. As the weather improves, the fire pits at Legacy will be the place to be, offering pre-dinner drinks or just good conversation. As we spring into
the best months of the year, we can expect our Club to flourish. The tennis facilities, with new LED lights, will be jumping. Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America, the hiring of Pickleball Professional, Austin Gridley, will keep the Lakeside Activity Center buzzing. We are moving into the peak season of golf; it all kicked off on March 30 with the Greystone Ladies Golf opening day. The day included a clinic with Liz Mattioli, mimosas, and a four-person scramble. On April 26-29, the men's Member-Guest will be played on both courses. This is Greystone's premier men's event and promises to be the best. Finally, spring will wrap up on May 8-14 with the return of the Regions Tradition at the Founder's Course. This year, Members will enjoy watching from #9 green and #18 green, this placement will give better access to Cellar 91. There will be great food, entertainment, and exciting golf. I strongly encourage all Members to support this event by buying your passes early and planning on having a fantastic experience. The leadership at Greystone continues to strive toward becoming the premier golf and country club in the state of Alabama. With the continued improvement of our facilities, our golf courses, our restaurants, and perhaps most im portantly, our team members, there's no doubt we will achieve this goal soon. Membership is at an all-time high, and moving toward a waitlist. We are offering more and more activities to make Greystone the destination for its members. I expect this to be the best Spring ever at Greystone Golf and Country Club. I can't wait to see you at Stone. Sincerely, Todd Reeves Todd Reeves, 2023 Club President
