The Legend Grows. We kicked off the year remembering the initial vision of Greystone Golf & Country Club as “A Legend In The Making.” For the past thirty years, your leadership and staff have constantly kept an eye on the horizon to make sure that Greystone lived up to this vision. Our goal this year was to communicate to you, the owners of Greystone, how important it is for your club to strategically reinvent itself and grow in order to meet the needs and desires of our future generations of members. It is an honor to report that we have officially begun another amazing period of growth in Greystone’s short history! Your club leaders have approved four major construction initiatives that we have studied over the past five years. Construction on one of our most pressing needs, the Lakeside Activity Center, has already started with the installation of our two resort slides along with finalizing the bids with the construction companies to begin the work on the pickleball courts, fencing and landscaping. This project is scheduled to be completed by Spring of 2022. Your gifts to this project are very important and much appreciated! Many of you have responded as faithful owners of your club and we know that many more will be giving to this project in the coming months. Slated to begin in April of 2022, the second construction project will be the renovation of the Legacy Clubhouse to include an additional 30% seating capacity along with the expansion and increased usage of the outdoor patio areas, updated designs, furnishings and accessories. With more of our membership growth occurring down the Hwy 119 area, it is important that we take advantage of the wonderful facility we already have at Legacy. We will be improving the indoor seating for our fine dining area (presently Amici’s) and expanding the outdoor seating as well. Plans are to convert Amici’s into an upscale steakhouse during 2022 while maintaining some of your favorite Italian dishes on the menu. The Mixed Grilled will also include expanded indoor seating in conjunction with a 30-seat outdoor bar designed to be utilized year-round. There will also be a new Adult Grill toward the Pro Shop end of the present clubhouse and behind it in the present Men’s Locker Room will be two state-of-the-art golf simulators that can be used by the entire family. This will be an amazing transformation of the Legacy Clubhouse that will only further enhance the excitement surrounding our next project. Scheduled to begin in June of 2022, the third construction project involves a major renovation of the Legacy course to include the replacement of the putting surfaces, reworking of the bunkers, new Zoysia grass on the tee boxes and many other necessary changes. The Rees Jones architectural firm has already made one visit to the Legacy Course and will be presenting their initial proposals in the coming days. We will be forming several focus groups to meet with the architects and provide our feedback as well during this process. It is important to remember that while we all have our favorite wants and desires that we would like to see incorporated during these renovations, we must trust the experts to ultimately decide what is best for the entire membership as a whole. This work on our Legacy Course will only solidify its place as one of the top courses in the entire country.

Our fourth construction project will focus on the irrigation system at the Founders Course. This work will begin a couple of weeks following the Regions Tradition in 2023 and should be completed over the course of four to five months. Based on past experience
