Don’t forget our Banksia Grove Christmas Party is coming up on Saturday 7th December. And our Christmas Raffles on Thursday 12th December. Many prizes up for grabs including 28 hams, also pork, turkey, chickens in addition to our normal prizes !!! With many residents having friends and family visiting over this period, just a few things to keep in mind so everyone stays safe and has an enjoyable Christmas/New Year. • All children visiting the village MUST be accompanied by an adult at ALL times. This includes the pool area as well as the rest of the village. • Please ensure your visitors park in the visitors parking and all residents please keep your own car in your carport. • Keep in mind we are not pet friendly so if you have friends and family that have pets please ensure you advise them of this, so they leave their cute fluffy friends at home where they are safe • Most of all stay safe and healthy and enjoy the Festive Season !!! During the Christmas/New Year period our office will be closed from Tuesday 24th December 2019 at 2pm and re-open on Thursday 2nd January 2020 at 9:30am. Four Ingredient Christmas Cake in the Slow Cooker
The most important part of making a Christmas cake is making sure those rich festive flavours have time to infuse. The slow cooker cake allows this to really happen in the cooking process, rather than allowing your cake to sit for months. Let's face it, most of us don't make out Christmas cakes months ahead, but this cheat isn't just easy, it's a last-minute fix to the Christmas cake conundrum. You can use any liquid you want, but the one that's causing a sensation uses Baily's Irish cream and chocolate milk. That said, you could use all Irish cream, all chocolate milk, or even add some whisky or apple juice to the mix.
Ingredients: • 1kg mixed dried fruit (look for a mix that includes peel and glace cherries) • 2 cups chocolate milk • ⅔ cup Bailey's Irish cream • 2 cups self-raising flour
Method:
Put your mixed fruit, chocolate milk and Bailey's into a bowl and mix to combine. Cover and soak for at least 4 hours, but overnight is best. Grease & line your slow cooker with a double layer of baking paper leaving the paper to come up the sides so you can use it to lift your cooked cake out. This is a very important step. Double lining stops sticking. Mix your flour into the soaked fruit until well combined. Pour the mix into your lined slow cooker and cook, covered, on low for 4-6 hours, depending on the size of your slow cooker. Note: This recipe also works if you put the cake mix into a lined cake tin and then sit it in the slow cooker with water 2/3 of the way up the side to steam the cake. It makes for a fudgier cake that is closer to pudding, but is also delicious, and works of you have a larger slow cooker or an oval cooker rather than a round one

Lillian’s Farewell & Thankyou
Thankyou Kay Dewhurst for my pre-wedding & farewell party in the hall. Also all her helpers and Rebecca and Sarah Moane for their decorating. What would our Village be like without these thoughtful people. I have been living here for 7 years and loved every minute of it. Everyone is so friendly and caring. Well, that’s what living in a Village is all about. Make friends and watch out for each other. I am going to miss you all BUT I am entering a new phase of my life. LOVE for the most beautiful man has stolen me away. I, or should I say WE, will be back to see you all periodically as we both have family down here. You ALL are part of my extended family. Wishing everyone ‘All the best for Christmas’ and ’Happy New Year’ I’m leaving a Lillian Weston but will see you again as Mrs Don Raines. I won’t change, only my name will.
Thankyou & Cheerio, Lillian XXX

Christmas Craft Day
Some of our residents decided to organise a Christmas Craft afternoon to get Crafty and make some Christmas decorations with bits and pieces they had lying around. Although not a great number of residents attended - the enthusiasm was terrific … and along with our usual craft ladies the results were tremendous.
Not just Christmas ideas flourished - another idea came about be- cause one resident was going to attend a Gender Reveal Party - See the
resulting wreath ...
You can just about make anything with bits and pieces & a glue gun!
We have Arts and Crafts every Wednesday afternoon at 1:00pm in the Community Hall. Come along and find your hidden talents. Everyone Welcome !!!

Res i den t s Feedback
As SCHOOL HOLIDAYS are just around the corner …..
A few things have been brought to our attention by you, our Residents, and we have been asked to put out a friendly reminder of a few village rules we need to keep in mind to ensure our village and residents are safe and happy at all times: • All Family and Friends Visiting the Village and using the facilities must be in the presence of a Resident , particularly the swimming pool and recreational areas. • As parking spaces are limited within the village, you must park your vehicle only in your own carport. Visitors parking spots are available for use only by visitors, tradespeople, doctors and emergency vehicles. • Keep in mind animals ARE NOT permitted in the village as Banksia Grove IS NOT pet friendly. If you have friends and family that have pets they MUST NOT be bought into the village . Please ensure you advise them of this, so they leave their cute fluffy friends at home where they are safe. • TAIL-GAITING is not permitted under any circumstances , especially when entering and exiting the village through the security gate. This is not only extremely dangerous to drivers, but could also cause significant damage to the function of the electronics of the security gate. • All vehicle operators within the village must obey the 10km/hr speed limit and other traffic signs at all times. Any vehicle operator that fails to comply with the obligation may be banned from driving within the confines of the village. Please make sure to remind any of your visitors to the village. • Lawn mowers and electrical or mechanical power equipment may only be used for the maintenance and repair of your premises for short periods between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturday. The same hours also apply to general tradesman or handyman noise. • All children visiting MUST be accompanied by an adult at ALL times • As you are all aware we do have security cameras at the gate
• And last but not least … Take Care, Stay Safe & Enjoy your village lifestyle!!!

Important Notice—To Flush—Or NOT to Flush
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR RESIDENTS
There has recently been articles in the media about supposedly ‘flushable’ wipes. One company claimed their wipes were made of specially designed material that would disintegrate like toilet paper when flushed—these claims were WRONG and the company was fined $700,000. It has been advised that there is no such thing as ‘flushable’ wipes So please BIN it—don’t FLUSH it . Our contractors have suggested we put out a reminder to all residents to be diligent and do not flush any wipes or non-bio-degradable materials. Also please be extra careful of anything that could find it’s way down kitchen and bathroom sinks and drains.
Flushing wipes and other non-bio-degradable items can cause major and costly plumbing issues in your home …. So please remember ….
DO NOT FLUSH

Thinking of selling your home? If you’re considering selling your home, it’s important to understand all the facts before entrusting anyone with the task. After all, it’s likely to be one of the biggest financial decisions you’ll ever make.
Here are just some of the benefits of selling your home through us -
• We have a unique understanding of the value of these types of homes and the benefits of living in land lease communities such as ours. • Unlike real estate agents, we are specialists and have a full understanding of the new Residential (Land Lease) Communities Act. • We have a database of prospective buyers who are ready to purchase a home. • We have an onsite sales office and our sales team are generally available 5 days a week for tours of the village and inspections of the houses for sale. • Anecdotal evidence suggests that prices achieved by us are higher than what real estate agents achieve. • The new legislation puts various legal obligations on to the vendor and their agent. We will ensure you comply with these requirements. • You won’t have to worry about solicitor fees and we will arrange for a new site agreement for the buyer of your home. • You’ll benefit from our significant marketing and promotional efforts.
• We will ensure a smooth handover of your home to your buyer.
So If relocation plans are in your future, or if you would just like to discuss the opportunities, drop in to the office or give Maria a call on 02 4965 1611 for a no obligation chat.
