Jettys Journal - August 2017
A few class mates and their partners travelled north to visit a farmers market in Sutherland. The weather was kind and as it turned out it was the markets first birthday. Their was entertainment by a Pipe band, rock and roll dancers and more. Plenty of stalls with lots of goodies. While 4 of us were resting and waiting for the others a young lady came up to us and asked if we would like to win a voucher. Three of us picked a voucher from her bag, I got a $5 gift voucher, Diane picked up some beauty products and Helene Rogers received a great hamper from a smoke house supplier. Always good to get something for nothing. Everyone arrived at the meeting place right on time. We had a short walk to a Chinese restaurant I lined up for lunch. Butchers paper for table cloths, ceiling fans that had seen better days and original Chinese pictures on the wall, but as I suspected fabulous food and plenty of it. After a long lunch we all returned home and enjoyed the whole day. August is very busy for Diane and myself as we are travelling to Belmont for a few days and then when we return just enough time to pack our bags to fly to Norfolk Island for 8 days. September could be a good time to go on a foodies walk around Warrawong to show people what is on offer close to home. Their are some hidden secrets around Cowper Street and now in the Plaza. EVERYONE IS WELCOME, more information in next journal.
