Description Purchase of a 2022 Ford F150 Pro Lightning Electric Truck for the Building Inspection Division. Building will already have a Ford Mach E so this continues the transition of the Building Division to an electric fleet. These vehicles are used every day to project for inspections and are well within the battery range. Total Project Cost: $42,000

Justification The Building Inspection Division travels significant miles every day throughout the community. This lessens our carbon food print and makes use of the city's charging network that is in partnership with SPUC.

The Building Inspection Revenue will pay for this vehicle directly and it will not come out of the current fleet budget.

Replacement schedule is 10 years.

Budget Impact/Other Electric vehicles come with extended warranties for batteries and 36,000 miles for other parts. There are few moving parts on these vehicles. Work will be performed by the dealer. No gas or oil charges. Based on current electric rates, this is a 90-MPG equivalent. The vehicle cost is the same as a gas-powered truck. This is the Pro model, which has been designed specifically for fleets, especially those used by governments.
