Description The construction of a traffic signal and intersection improvements are expected to be warranted in the future with the increased traffic in the area of CSAH 101 and Shenandoah Drive. Additionally, a 500-ft section of Shenandoah is proposed to be widened just north of Unbridled Boulevard to add a 2nd northbout lane as recommended in the Canterbury Amphitheater EAW. Total Project Cost: $920,000
The improvements will be paid for by the area remaining Amazon TIF funding and Canterbury TIF funding.
Justification The Canterbury areawide transportation study identified the need for a traffic signal at CSAH101 and Shenandoah Drive. Heavy truck and traffic volumes create backups on Shenandoah Drive. Additional development of the Canterbury area will further increase traffic through the intersection.
