Description of Services: A primary objective of the city is to provide excellent customer service to you, our community members, and to work as efficiently as possible with your tax dollars. The City Clerk's office is a major player for both objectives, as it serves as an informational hub throughout the city. From the moment you enter or otherwise contact City Hall, you will be greeted by a member of the City Clerk's division. All staff are ready to help get you where you need to go, and are passionate about providing top-notch customer service. Whether you need business licensing, have a records request, or just aren't quite sure who to contact about a particular issue, our staff are here to help guide you through the process. City clerk’s office is also responsible for maintaining official city records by scanning, filing, and managing the documents in our electronic repository. Finally, the City Clerk's office is responsible for administering elections in the City of Shakopee. They recruit, hire, and train our election judges; maintain and test election equipment; and provide exceptional customer service to our citizens on Election Day.

Accomplishments:  Strive to provide an example of excellence in customer service throughout our organization.  Onboarded new City Clerk and evaluated current positions and customer service needs.  Created new licensure processes for the state mandated cannabis licensing, as well as the state authorized Shakopee Social District. Goals/Challenges:  Keeping up to date on legislative changes that primarily affect data retention, official publications, and election procedures.  Ensuring that all parties have access to important public information.  Transitioning Administrative Assistant position to full-time in order to provide consistent front desk customer service, and support other departmental positions by enabling them to focus on their specialized areas.
