2040 Comprehensive Plan: Envision Shakopee

Neighborhood Industrial District Immediately west of Shakopee’s Downtown Business District is the Rahr Malting facility. The 38 acre facility processes material for the brewing industry. The 17-story elevators are a landmark of Downtown and Shakopee and are visible from miles away. Future planning in Downtown should not hinder Rahr’s operations. However, it is important to foster synergy between Rahr and the adjacent properties with Downtown.
