SHAKOPEE WRESTLING The youth wrestling program is designed for boys and girls PreK through fifth grade. The 2019-20 season starts in November and concludes with the MN/USA State Tournament in March. Participants can extend their season to learn Freestyle techniques (March-May). Tournaments are available most weekends; however, tournament costs are not included with the registration fee. A parent meeting will be held at the Community Center upstairs meeting room at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7. This meeting will provide details on the upcoming season, practice information, introduce the coaching staff and provide an opportunity for parents to ask questions. Registration opens in September. JUNIORS VOLLEYBALL Shakopee Juniors Volleyball is a community-based program that is run by the Shakopee Volleyball Association (SVA). The program is for girls who attend school in Shakopee or live in the Shakopee School District. Boot camps to help prepare girls for tryouts are held the two weeks before tryouts. (Check the website calendar for these dates.) The season starts in November with tryouts and generally ends in late April. Teams practice two nights per week and will participate in approximately 10 weekend events throughout Minnesota. SVA hosts the December Dig Tournament in mid-December to kick off the season for our 12s and 14s teams. We also offer SAQ (Strength, Agility and Quickness) training and yoga, as well as skills clinics throughout the year. We typically have 10 players per team.
