Shakopee, we missed you. It's been a long few months as we canceled programs and closed facilities to do our part in slowing the spread of COVID-19. But we are so happy to be back — even if it looks a little different than we're used to. The Shakopee Community Center reopened July 6, and we began offering modified programs in late June. Our Fitness at Huber Park classes have been a hit, and it's nice to see kids participating in our programs once again. over the coming months. Many of our athletic activities have returned, and we have special programming planned for MEA break. We're offering adapted private swim lessons children age 3 and older. You can also find a ton of great fitness options for members and non-members. SPECIAL EVENTS Spooky Family Fun Night returns Saturday, Oct. 24. To meet state capacity guidelines, we are transitioning this to an outdoor event. Families can sign up for a time slot to enjoy fall-themed fun at Lions Park. More special events can be found on page 18-19. COMMUNITY CENTER While the Community Center remains open to members only at this time, we appreciate everyone's flexibility and understanding as we adapt to the changing situation. Due to state public health guidelines related to COVID-19, the Community Center is taking precautions to keep our members safe. At this time, we have made the difficult decision not to open some of our building services due to challenges related to social distancing and sanitation. This list may change as the state lifts restrictions under the Stay Safe Minnesota order.
