SAFETY CAMP 2018

Shakopee Parks and Recreation, Community Education and Shakopee Police and Fire Departments are teaming up to encourage youth safety. During this one-day camp participants will get to experience and learn about a variety of safety issues including 911, first aid, Internet safety, backpack safety and so much more! Cost includes more than 10 presentations and demonstrations, camp T-shirt, lunch and graduation certificate. A short graduation ceremony for family and friends will close out our camp at the end of the day. Please bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Community Center, 1255 Fuller St. S. PLANET SPIRIT CHEER CAMP We’ve got spirit, how ‘bout you?! This four-day camp will include instruction on basic cheerleading skills such as jumps, motions, cheers, chants, stunts, and dance. The experienced Planet Spirit staff will strive to build self-confidence while teaching sportsmanship, character, and integrity. Each participant will receive a Planet Spirit t-shirt. Participants should wear appropriate clothing to be very active, tennis shoes (no sandals or crocs) and should bring a water bottle each week. Community Center East Gym, 1255 Fuller St. S.

BABYSITTERS TRAINING Learn the responsibilities of babysitting through this American Red Cross class. This class will teach leadership skills, supervision techniques, safety, emergency and first aid care, personal safety, feeding infants and young children along with the business aspect of babysitting. EPIC EXPLORERS We’re teaming up with Three Rivers Park District to offer this EPIC camp! For the first half of each day campers will take on activities such as log rolling in the pool at SandVenture Aquatic Park, geocaching, fishing, slack-lining and more!
