SOIL MANAGEMENT AND REEF CONSERVATION

A couple of weeks before World Soil Day, NASAA Organic Chair TimMarshall attended Reef Catchments’ Healthy Soils Symposium in Mackay. Timwas part of the important discussions on how organic practices and regenerative farming contribute to reduce undesirable outcomes for the Great Barrier Reef. It was great to support the work of Reef Catchments, a team of skilled and outcome- focused people who are dedicated to looking after the environment in the Mackay Whitsunday Isaac region by addressing issues such as sediment loss, erosion, and runoff of pesticides and fertilisers.
