İlhan Sami Çomak it began

Then we began with the light’s subtle wit Then the sky began with its briskest blue In the waters where we were delayed carved time began. The mountain lacking majesty, resisted with a knife’s excitement with sweat dripping into the night from the horse’s pillion The deserted valleys and the charming owls in the air began with brand new curves. Then the armies with their cattle Then the muezzin with his horrendously strong voice piercing our ears The tall cranes, the coin of the realm The crescent cavalry of that era which passed through this road began Standing up with a Qur’an, one by one all prophets began The sherbets we drank with our passed loves our pens preceding our cut hands

We are growing up sobbing oh sea! Then our sandal caught fire in the phosphorescence Fishes swam up to breathe in the salty air death began And where I said it began inside soap bubbles
