İlhan Sami Çomak sleepless
I was sleepless I was still seeking sleep when morning came I chased the night it resembled a pine tree
I saw bread on the road and sweated I saw water and stone and pondered I saw the wind and a flower it was so beautiful oh my oh my A bird was flying I also saw it I’ve seen everything but sleep was nowhere to be found Then I’ve seen the core Next to the core I’ve looked at the corner of my heart On the corner I was surprised to find my beloved sitting I thought, go into the core of my heart, you will fall So she found her place right in the core of my heart But when there’s no sleep love too is tiring, don’t ask I think love feeds insomnia How general a statement about vicious circles. I couldn’t go on like this and lay down on the cracks I can’t find sleep, I can’t Helpless I turned to my love With my voice I adorned the walls of my heart Not a sound, she’s asleep. There at the core This moment I named: cruelty. I looked everywhere. The North was missing It must have left with her.
