Throughout all of this, a laborer wearing a canvas mason’s hat approaches the draper standing in front of the Troffeas’ open door and observes the two dancers. Then, he turns around to look inside the workshop. An illustrated paper rustling in the wind on the printing press intrigues him:
“What’s this?”
Despite being astounded by the spectacle happening on the street, the draper goes back into the shop:
“It’s the fall of the thunder stone that landed just south of Strasbourg.”
The laborer, surprised to make out a meteorite descending from the clouds, pushes up the brim of his hat by pushing his thumbs up his forehead. “Ah okay. That actually happened? I didn’t know. No even the stars are starting to shit on us from above!... And on that desk? What will that engraving show us once it’s done?” 116
