Cronos Cube

“You will soon find out where it got its name fromwhen you leave the hall,” Octavian said. “The Cocoon City - Ma’quoia - has been built inside a huge tree. And when I say huge, then I really mean gigantic. “This hall here is inahollowtrunk, and this trunkhasadiameterof one kilometer. The inhabitants of Ma’quoia are theVizardWights who have every good reason to hide their faces behind masks. You will learn to watch out for them, because the Vizard Wights will not shy away froman opportunity to pick-pocket your Pyrops,” he explained, showing Zack a scarlet red shimmering coin. “These Pyrops are the coins that you receive for completing quests, for killing nubbun, or for selling items that you have found or made. It helps if you can build up your stock of Pyrops – in that respect Cronos is not that different from the reality we are familiar with.” By the second, more and more things continued to appear: stalls just like those on a marketplace; a simple structure with several hackneys in front of it; a bulletin board; and a fountain with a towering statue in it (a busty woman wearing nothing but a cloak made out of bird feathers and a hat made of leaves and branches). She held an hourglass in front of her like a lantern with a viscous lava-red fluid dripping through its slender neck, casting a warm light on the water in the fountain and on Octavian’s face. There were three glass columns surrounding her: two of themwere half- filled with turquoise-coloured water, whereas themiddle onewas three-quarters full with a green substance.

“How do I find my mate in this place?” asked Zack.
