Yolanda Castaño Yolanda Castaño (born in Santiago de Compostela, 1977) received a degree in Spanish language and literature with media studies. She writes poetry inboth SpanishandGalician forwhichshehaswonvarious awards, such as the Espiral Mayor Poetry Award and the National Critics Award. Her cultural activism focuses on preserving Galician language and has led her to become General Secretary of the Galician Language Writers Association. TE 19-5 Ricardo Menéndez Salmón Ricardo Menéndez Salmón (born in Gijón, Spain, 1971) writes for various news outlets including ABC , La Nueva España , El Mercurio and Tiempo . He received a degree in philosophy from the Universidad de Oviedo. Best known for his trilogoy of novels ( La ofensa , Derrumbe , and El corrector ), he has published over half a dozen novels, a travel book, various poems, and short story collections. In 2016, he won the Premio Biblioteca Breve for his novel El Sistema . Despite international acclaim, none of his work has yet appeared in book form in English. TE 19-6
