TE 20-11 Ben Sloan

Carmen-Francesca Banciu Carmen-Francesca Banciu (born in Lipova, Romania in 1955) began her writing career in 1984. She won the International Short Story Prize of the city of Arnsberg, Germany in 1985, leading to her works being banned in Romania. Since moving to Berlin in 1996, she has published in both Romanian and German. She currently works as a lecturer, novelist, and freelance editor. TE 20-12 Ben Sloan (born in Los Angeles in 1995) is an American writer living in Vienna. He moved to Austria after studying history at UC Berkeley, where he published his Bachelor’s thesis on art and socialism in East Germany. Ben has taught English and history in San Francisco, small “cow towns” in the Austrian countryside, and in Vienna. His fiction explores both large scale and intimate histories of the regions he has lived and worked in. Ben’s fiction work has appeared in New World Writing .
