Leta Semadeni LETA SEMADENI (born in Scuol, 1944) worked as a teacher in Zurich and in the Engadin, and abroad in Latin America, Paris, Berlin, and New York. Her work has been recognized with many prizes, including the literary prize of the Canton Graubünden and the Schiller Preis in 2011. Tamangur is her first novel. An accomplished writer of poetry and prose in German, Semadeni is alsooneof themost prominent contemporary representatives of rhaeto-romanic lyric and storytelling. A continuous bilingualism marks her poetry, which she writes in both Rhaeto-Romanic and German. She “moves through both languages like moving through two different territories of words.” (NZZ) She has written poetry and short prose works for numerous anthologies and magazines and some of her poems have even been set to music by Swiss and Italian artists.
