THE MIRACLE OF ADVICE Once upon a time, a certain wise man who knew of many a great thing was posed the following question: “As has long been known to everyone, the music of the East is not well received by the population of the West, while at the same time, by any stretch of the imagination, Western music is quite alien to the people of the East. What is to be done about this?” “What is to be done?” the wise man repeated. And then he immediately suggested: “We ought to, dancing, as it were, to this music and to that – if we succeed in doing so – move ourselves away imperceptibly from both of these sources.” _____
